Prompt listing requirements: character limits, required fields and KYC
This page is a read-only view of what the seller form and Promtify's server-side rules already enforce — it does not define them. Character limits come from the same constants the publish form uses, and the per-category rules below are read live from the admin rules table, so they stay correct when a rule changes.

1. Mandatory fields
These are enforced for every listing, whatever the category:
- Title — 3–35 characters.
- Short description — 10–500 characters.
- Preview text — 5–1000 characters; shown before purchase.
- Full prompt — 5–10,000 characters; unlocked only after purchase.
- Main category — one per listing.
- Price — inside the band for that category, or the listing marked free where the category allows it.
A cover image, a preview video and an AI model are required only where the category is configured that way — see the per-category table below.

4. Optional fields (all categories)
- Negative prompt — what the model should avoid.
- Customizable fields — wrap swappable words as {{ placeholders }} so buyers can edit them.
- How to use — model, settings and what the buyer should change.
- Tags, sample images and a compare-at price.
- Flash sale price (needs a sale quota when used).

5. KYC and payouts
Selling requires a one-time seller application. The form currently asks for:
- Your full legal name, email, phone number and address.
- An identity document type and its number.
- A photo of the front of that document — the back is optional.
- A selfie holding the document.
- A payout method: a UPI ID, or a bank account with bank name, account holder name, account number and IFSC.
Documents are encrypted and visible only to the review team, and the decision is emailed to you. Requirements can change as verification is tightened — the seller application itself always shows the current list.
The platform fee is 28% per sale, so you keep 72%. Sales settle after a 7-day cooldown, and payouts can be requested once your available balance reaches ₹100.
6. Review time and common rejection reasons
Every listing is reviewed by an admin before it goes live. Sellers with an active Verified Badge membership get priority review — a decision within 24 hours; every other seller gets a decision in up to 72 hours. Priority affects only the speed of the decision, never the outcome, and flagged listings (possible duplication, prohibited content, incomplete KYC) can take longer.
These checks are enforced by the rules engine or applied during review:
- Duplicate or copied prompt — the full prompt text is compared against existing listings.
- Missing or too-short preview text (minimum 5 characters).
- Missing cover image or preview video where the category requires one.
- No AI model selected for a category that requires one.
- Price below or above the band allowed for the selected main category.
- Too many extra categories or extra AI models for that category.
- An incomplete build step — a step title without its prompt text, or the reverse.
- Incomplete or unreadable KYC documents.
