Image models have changed more in the last 12 months than in the previous three years. What used to be cutting-edge prompts now look dated. Here is what works in 2026.
Style recipes
- Editorial fashion: "shot on Hasselblad H6D, 80mm, natural window light, Vogue Italia, 1998 archival look"
- Cinematic still: "anamorphic 2.39:1, teal-orange grade, shot on Arri Alexa, Roger Deakins lighting"
- Documentary: "shot on Leica Q3, available light only, 35mm, unposed, Magnum Photos style"
Mistakes
- Token soup — 30 adjectives confuse the model. Stop at 10–12.
- Conflicting styles — "Studio Ghibli + photorealistic" produces mush.
- Ignoring aspect ratio — Set
--arfirst; composition follows. - Generic lighting — Name the lighting setup as a real photographer would.
